Michael Miller Fabrics & Sarah Jane' Studios

When My Sugar Baby and I recently began the planning stages of our spring photo shoot, I immediately knew that I wanted to incorporate Michael Miller fabrics from Sarah Jane's Out to Sea collection - in shades of red, white, and blue.

Something about Sarah Jane Studios speaks to me. Sarah Jane does a brilliant job of creating timeless collections that capture the essence of childhood play. Typically the Out To Sea is donned in sweet shades pinks and pastels when stitched up into sweet ruffles and girly goodness, and it's hard to go wrong when you pair young girls with pink pretties from SJS. But I knew from the beginning that I wanted our models to be more vibrant, a little bolder. I wanted our models to rock the classic hues of red, white, and blue. And boy did they!

The shoot was unreal! The girls were fantastic troopers. Our photographers (Pink Pug & Tara Jones) were tireless, and it was thrilling to see the way all the accessories came together to present each item beautifully and artistically.

The Ruffle Tunic on left is presented patriotic style topped off with some red rock star boots, and the Apron Skirt on right (sans apron) is simple and sweet - perfect for everyday.

Notice the stunning hair accessories made by Lil' Beauty Boutique, and the incredible beaded necklaces were made by Paradise Beads Designs. The accessories tied everything together perfectly.

It's hard to go wrong when you pair Michael Miller Fabrics from Sarah Jane Studios with Little Lizard King patterns!

The double flutter sleeves on the Market Dress below are trimmed in red glitter rick rack. They are even prettier in person!

Below you see our Knot Right Now Top, Millie's Market Dress, Ruffled Tunic, and Double Ruffle Knot Top, dress length (pictured from left to right).

This picture below captures the true essence of youthful innocence and childhood whimsy. Sewing clothing for our children does the same. It allows us to savor the fleeting moments. In a blink - these precious moments are gone. Michael Miller Fabrics and Sarah Jane Studios have created fabrics that allow us to make beautiful items that capture the true essence of childhood. In a sense, sewing lets us freeze time and savor the fleeting minutes. Each time our handmade items are worn, the  memories and experiences we cherish become permanently imprinted in our hearts. Sewing makes this possible.

Happy Labor Day, friends!

Special thanks to our incredible photographers -
