Swirly Skirt Pattern - Sew-a-long, Day 2

Sewing machines freshly oiled and at the ready... sergers threaded and ready to go. Let's get this sew-a-long a stitchen! If you missed day 1 and still need your pattern go get it from Little Lizard King's store by clicking here. Don't forget to use discount code "swirly". If you have not liked them on Facebook, what took you so long?! Click here to like them now!

Day 2: Lets start by serging the edges of those pattern pieces we cut out yesterday.
Serged edges lace
For my lacey skirt I serged the edges but do not worry if you do not have a serger- just zigzag stitch those edges and we are ready to add lace or fabric ruffles. Serged rolled hem

OPTION A: If you are skipping extra frill like lace go ahead and finish your edges, another option would be to roll hem the edges now to save some hemming time later. OPTION B: If frill is in your plans, go ahead and grab your fabrics or lace. Now is a good time to justify a trip to the fabric store again... if we even really need an excuse. I bought pre-ruffled lace which helped speed up the process. Go ahead and sew all those ruffles onto the swirly panels. Added lace to panels

Once you get that done pause and we will see you tomorrow! You have just completed pages 8-12 of the tutorial. Hope you are loving this just as much as I am. If you have kids on the loose in your house put the cut out pieces somewhere safe. (speaking from experience)
